Ask E. Jean - Tormented? Driven Witless? Whipsawed by confusion?

Advice Vixens

Kal
If you have not seen it already, you will want to look at E. Jean's piece on Hideous Men. Uncomfortable and potentially triggering -- this is E. Jean bravely revealing a LOT -- it's required reading for anyone who has ever benfited from her advice, her writing, and her big, big heart.

Hi, Vixens. Long time no see!

I just read this and had to dig out my old password. I can't believe the surrealist nightmare we live in.

I'm so sorry that this happened, E. Jean. I don't know what to say, but we support you no end!

Samantha! So great to see you!

And yes, this is awful ... and yet I hope *something* good can come of it, as more and more of the loathsome behaviour of the unjustly powerful is exposed and held up to public contempt and disapprobation.

And maybe once the level of contempt reaches a critical mass, these powerful men will no longer have power.

Hi, Samantha! I miss you so much!

    E. Jean, thank you for speaking up. I know the trolls are going to give you hell and I have absolutely no doubt that you will give it right back.

I have no idea how I can possibly be of any help to you, but I am here for whatever you need.

Telling that story was incredibly brave, particularly considering the poisonous atmosphere created by the current administration. It was also a kick-ass move!

I saw the piece when it first came out and my heart broke. It stayed on my mind for days and I wanted to come here and react but I was too lost in the shock.

It was like finding out something about your mother, aunt.
    Just heartbreaking.
The woman who has been helping us had a very touching and moving story to tell.

Miss E Jean, you are amazing! Thank you for telling us your story and you certainly have our (small) but very powerful support at the same time.

Please let us know if we can be of help!

UPDATE: Well, not that I have more info than anyone else, really. But I note with some relief that E. Jean (as she states in an interview with CNN) has been staying off social media for awhile. I know she's deservedly getting tons of support on various sites, which I hope is somehow being conveyed to her -- but I also think she's very wise to avoid the trolls for a while.

I also note that there seems to be no "Ask E. Jean" column in this month's Elle ... but that there are still regular daily archival updates to Elle's Ask E. Jean site, and that E. Jean is still listed as a contributing editor on the magazine masthead. I'm hoping it was her decision to take a short break, and that Elle is fully on board with this. (Actually, as far as I'm concerned, they had better be...)

Anyway, further bulletins will be posted all over the net, I'm sure. But if anyone else wants to post a message of support for Auntie E here ... well, she may not see it right away, but you know E. Jean will drop by at some point!

Oh, and Gerbera, wonderful to see you as always! Hope Luxembourg is treating you well!

Samantha, where are you these days? Charleston, Chicago, Los Angeles, or good old Moose Factory?

Jill, how's the train robbing this summer?

And Robynne, how's my very favourite vixen? (You can reply here, or you can just walk into the next room and tell me....)

Y’all. I have been *losing my mind* trying to figure out when her book tour starts! It is wonderful to see all of you!

I am holding off on buying the book until I can find a book tour event to get the book signed & all ❤️

Kal I'm working for the summer in a resort just outside of Yosemite. I know it's sacrilege, but I'm sick of the damn trees and will be going back to LA in the fall:)
